I had the pleasure of having Clay develop insights for me on a project while I was at Royal Bank Of Canada (RBC). The ask was challenging. RBC is a Canadian bank that, at the time, had retail banking, wealth management, capital markets operations in the US and were all under different brands. We needed to consolidate the brand and have a single positioning message across the various businesses. As one might imagine, the views on what the messaging should be at the Canadian head office and the various US businesses were quite diverse. This required Clay to have patience, be prepared with supporting insights and, of course, smarts on his feet - he's a very good communicator. He was always open to sometimes conflicting points of view and worked to adjust the recommendations while maintaining their integrity. In the end we nailed down a great solution.
